Full Moon In Taurus 2020 – Blue Moon

by | Oct 29, 2020 | Astrology News

On October 31st, Sun in Scorpio opposites Moon in Taurus. This is October Full Moon, but also a Blue moon, being the second full moon in the same calendar month. It enhances some of the qualities associated with the zodiac sign of Taurus: perseverance, patience, stability and, above all, hard work.

What is a Blue Moon?

In astrology, there are two different definitions for this term. According to the oldest definition, a blue moon is the third full moon in a season having four full moons. This occurs not once in a blue moon, but about every 2.5 years . For example, this kind of blue moon occurs on May 18th 2019, on 22nd August 2021 or on 19th August 2024.

According to the second definition, a blue moon is a second full moon in the same calendar month. So, when the Full Moon falls at the very beginning of a month, a Blue Moon will occur at the end of the month. In consequence, February will never have this type of full moon. This kind of blue moon is called a monthly blue moon.

31st October 2020 Blue moon is a monthly Blue moon. On 2nd October occurred a Blue Moon in Aries – the first full moon on the month. On 31st October occurs a Full moon in Taurus – the second full moon of the month and, in consequence, a Blue moon.

31st October 2020 Blue Moon: Working Hard or Complaining

A full moon in Taurus motivates yourself to work hard, even when you’re not in the mood.

Here are some questions for you. Trying to sincerely answer to them will harmonize you with this day astrological influences:

  • Are you efficient at work?
  • Do you feel valued at work?
  • How can you improve your productivity?
  • Are you satisfied with what you have right now?

We offer you, bellow, two Zen stories about work. One speaks about working hard, the other one about complaining, when the work is difficult. Their message may seem contradictory, but this is the beauty of Zen. Trying to understand them – not necessarily with your brain – represents an excellent exercise for the October 2020 Blue Moon in Taurus.

Zen Story for 31st October 2020 Blue Moon: All You Ever Do Is Complaining

There once was a monastery that was very strict. Following a vow of silence, no one was allowed to speak at all. But there was one exception to this rule. Every ten years, the monks were permitted to speak just two words.

After spending his first ten years at the monastery, one monk went to the head monk.

„It has been ten years,“ said the head monk. „What are the two words you would like to speak?“

„Bed… hard…“ said the monk.

„I see,“ replied the head monk.

Ten years later, the monk returned to the head monk’s office.

„It has been ten more years,“ said the head monk. „What are the two words you would like to speak?“

„Food… stinks…“ said the monk.

„I see,“ replied the head monk.

Yet another ten years passed and the monk once again met with the head monk who asked:

„What are your two words now, after these ten years?“

„I… quit!“ said the monk.

„Well, I can see why,“ replied the head monk. „All you ever do is complaining.“

Zen Story for 31st October 2020 Blue Moon: Working Very Hard

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said earnestly:

„I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it?“

The teacher’s reply was casual,

„Ten years“.

Impatiently, the student answered,

„But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice every day, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?“

The teacher thought for a moment,

„20 years.“
